How Does Acupuncture work? …

Acupuncture induces relaxation naturally by stimulating the bodies innate ability to HEAL ITSELF. You will experience DRUG FREE relaxation from your first visit.  Each treatment builds on the previous one creating an accumulative effect for lasting results.

Having been around for the best part of five thousand years and observing varying disharmonies correct themselves to a state of wellness, many times over, the experience of the ancient practice truly speaks for itself.

The “Meridians” are the main energy system, or circuit, that houses life force. To give you a comparison, blood runs through your veins, Qi (life force/ energy) runs through your meridians.  The pins, which are simply energy conductors, tap into the Meridian system creating balance and harmony encouraging the bodies innate natural ability to replenish.

Understandably, placing the words “relaxing and pins” together in the same sentence don’t gel for a lot of people.  The general experience and association to date would naturally tell us that we are in for a similar visit to a doctor for an injection. Be rest assured, there is no comparison and you are guided into a very relaxed state.

In today’s world the demands on our time and energy is incredibly high.  Acupuncture is one of the most effective DRUG FREE ways to maintain mental and physical health. Stress responses are reduced dramatically giving the body and mind instant permission to align, inducing relaxation and reducing or eliminating physical pain.

Enhancing & Maintaining Wellness…

In China it is common for citizens to have health check-up every six months, a “Preventative” approach  to keeping their population in the best health possible.

In the West we have adopted a mentality of “Curative” medicine meaning, we wait until we need fixing before we look at our health.  We regularly tune our cars why not our bodies? Your health deserves at least as much attention, right?

The more you demand from your body, the more maintenance you should have. Professional athletes are under regular medical supervision to ensure they are operating at peak levels. You may not be a professional athlete but the daily demands of modern life can certainly create higher than healthy levels of stress.

Acupuncture is a natural DRUG FREE approach to maintain and/or enhance the following…

  • Sports performance
  • Mental clarity
  • Sustainable energy levels
  • Emotional balance
  • Good digestion
  • Strong immune, vascular & nervous system
  • Quality sleep

What Is Moxibustion?…

Moxibusiton, known commonly as Moxa is made from the dried herb Mugwort, (Artemisia vulgaris).

It comes in many forms; the most common being a cigar shape that when lit creates a smoldering heat producing a nurturing warmth. When held over the body it encourages blood flow and increases energy (Qi) to the area or organ concerned.

Documented research has shown the benefits are many:

  • Increasing red and white blood cells
  • Reduces impact trauma to injury site
  • Enhances sport performance
  • Supports immune, endocrine, digestion, vascular, metabolic and nervous systems

How Often Do I Need Acupuncture?…

If you are feeling generally run down low in energy and wanting to de-stress, four weekly sessions are encouraged. Followed up with monthly maintenance sessions to keep the energy tank full.

In more chronic and acute conditions a treatment plan would be discussed at your initial consultation.
